A time-controlled flashing light (LED) reminds user to clean keyboard at regular intervals.
The user pushes a button to lock the keys, so the keyboard can be cleaned immediately in place without shutdown or disconnection.
Now the smooth silicon-based surface can be decontaminated with any hospital-approved germicidal spray or wipe.
Integrated sensors automatically detect when the keyboard is wiped.
Upon wipe-down, the flashing alert light stops.
User unlocks the keyboard to continue data entry.
